THE NEW CHAPTER

At Alpine K9 Training Centre in Portage la Prairie, training is about more than obedience. It's about building a clear, lasting relationship between you and your dog through trust, respect, and meaningful communication.

With more than 1,000 dogs trained, every program is tailored to your dog's personality, history, and individual needs. Our most popular program, Day Train, gives your dog the opportunity to learn in a structured environment while returning home to you each evening. It's the perfect balance of professional training, real-world practice, and owner involvement, creating lasting results that carry into everyday life.

Our approach is built on balance, leadership, and connection. We don't just teach commands, we help dogs develop the confidence, emotional regulation, and life skills they need to navigate the world calmly and successfully.

Whether your dog joins us for Day Train, Leash Camp, structured daycare, or 1:1 training, every program is designed to create meaningful, lasting change. You'll receive expert guidance, ongoing support, and practical strategies that strengthen the relationship between you and your dog long after training ends.

At Alpine K9, our goal is simple: to help you build a dog that is calm, engaged, and fully integrated into your everyday life.

STRUCTURED DAYCARE

The Structured Daycare program at Alpine K9 in Portage la Prairie is designed for dogs who need more than just a place to spend the day, it’s a purposeful, training-based environment built around calm, structure, and real-life results.

I intentionally guide each day to support behaviour, clarity, and confidence through consistent handling and thoughtful routines.

This is not traditional daycare. Each dog is immersed in a balanced day that includes training-based games, enrichment, guided socialization, and nervous system regulation, all within a controlled, low-stress setting.

With a maximum of four dogs per day, the focus stays on quality over quantity. This allows for individualized attention, clear communication, and meaningful progress for every dog.

The goal is simple, calmer dogs, better behaviour, and a structured experience that carries into everyday life at home.

ALPINE K9 Programs

Every dog learns differently, and every relationship deserves the right start. At Alpine K9, each program is designed to meet your dog where they are, then guide them forward with clarity, calm, and purpose. Led by Grayson Butler, my approach is grounded in structure, consistency, and real-life application, building dogs that can think, respond, and settle with confidence in everyday environments. Each program is intentionally built to support both dog and owner, creating clear communication, strengthening trust, and developing habits that carry into everyday life.

Day Train

Ideal for puppies, young dogs, or owners looking to refine foundational skills.

My Day Train program is designed to build strong habits and clear communication through focused, structured training. You drop your dog off for the day, and I work through targeted sessions that support leash manners, focus, impulse control, and foundational obedience, while also helping your dog learn to stay calm through real-life distractions.

This program offers a consistent, supportive training rhythm without overnight stays, giving your dog the opportunity to learn, practice, and progress in a structured environment, while I guide both of you toward clear communication and lasting results.

The daycare at Alpine K9 is a balanced, enriching space led by Grayson Butler, Certified Trainer and owner. I’ve designed this environment around structure, calm energy, and intentional care, guiding dogs through training-based games, enrichment activities, healthy socialization, and nervous system regulation to support overall well-being, not just physical exercise.

I keep groups small and focused, with a maximum of five dogs, so I can provide individualized attention, personalized care, and consistent reinforcement for every dog in my care.

Leash Camp

Ideal for dogs who struggle on leash, pull, react, or get easily overstimulated on walks.

My 2-Day Leash Camp is designed to reset your dog’s relationship with the leash and build clear, calm communication. You drop your dog off for two focused training days and pick them up with practical, real-world progress you can feel right away.

I focus on loose leash walking, engagement around distractions, impulse control, and teaching your dog how to regulate their emotions outside the home. This isn’t just about “not pulling”, it’s about building a dog who can move through the world with you in a calm, connected way.

This program is perfect for owners who want fast, targeted results without committing to a longer stay, while still gaining the skills to continue the work at home.

Transformation Stories

Very happy with the service we received from Grayson. Our 2.5 year old Beagle started the training as a hyper boy who's nose would often get him into trouble, to a well behaved dog in just a couple days!

Loved all the explanations and taking the time to explain everything to us before taking him home, setting us up to succeed beyond the training.

Highly recommend Grayson to anyone looking to improve their dogs behavior!
Despite the distractions, Grayson's expertise and patience helped us achieve a calm state on leash. His ability to recognize subtle changes in behaviour and guide us toward calmness is impressive and reassuring. I feel like we're in this together, and that's a game-changer. Highly recommend!

BREANN & COOKIE

Grayson was great with Oz! We did a 4 week program with him and we saw incredible changes in his reactivity and impulse control! We will 100% work with Grayson again

Alysia & OZ

Bentley and I started out with 6 weeks of training with Grayson and won an extra 6 weeks! I love and appreciate Grayson’s positive reinforcement approach and Bentley’s excitement to see Grayson on training days is proof that he buys in to the program too! Bentley has gone from a super reactive little boss, to a much calmer and noticeably less stressed little man. Walks are enjoyable now and we are both much less stressed when we meet other dogs while we’re out and about. Grayson is knowledgeable, patient and a terrific teacher. I’m so grateful that we took the time to do the training and to put in the work between sessions. It’s been life changing for Bentley and for me! THANK YOU Grayson!!

From the moment we began working with Grayson, we saw remarkable improvements in our dogs' behaviour. Our Saint Bernard, who used to be quite stubborn, has become more responsive and well-mannered. Similarly, our lively Pomeranian has learned to channel her energy positively, becoming a joy to be around.

Grayson's calm and composed demeanor has been instrumental in achieving these breakthroughs. His ability to connect with our dogs and understand their unique personalities is truly remarkable. It's as if he has an innate understanding of canine behaviour, allowing him to communicate effectively with them.

Thank you, Grayson, for making such a positive difference in our lives. We wholeheartedly recommend your services to anyone seeking a deeper connection and understanding with their canine companions.

No muzzle needed at the vet! Trouble was very friendly with all the vets and techs, such a proud dad moment, Thank You Grayson!

I fostered and then adopted a pup that was attacked by another dog and left for dead at just 3 months old. He is a Heeler x border collie so already a challenging breed. With his very difficult beginnings to life, Ryker had a strong lack of impulse control. Luckily it wasn’t displayed with aggression but it was controlling my personal life because I couldn’t have people into my house. He would not calm down when company was over and if I tried to put him in his crate (a place he actually loved) he would scream until the company left or I would let him out. I loved this little guy but I was at my witts end - I had tried a number of exercises by on line trainers and saw a small improvement. It wasn’t until I did the 7 day board and train with Grayson that we made progress. I learned a lot and Ryker started his journey to calm. 6 months later, I have a completely different dog. I still have more work to do with and likely will for the rest of his life - due mostly to his breed now. I can’t recommend Grayson enough to help you and your dog find a way to find calm, connection and focus in your lives.

He's been great with our rescue dog. My wife and I are very satisfied with his work.

Delta just completed 6 weeks with Grayson doing his 1:1 Training and she and I have learned a lot.  She has learned to follow my lead, and we both have had positive experiences with other dogs.  This was a huge fear of mine and Grayson taught me what to do to introduce her properly and foster positive reactions.  I highly recommend Training with Grayson!!
