October at Alpine K9: Building Connection, Community & Confidence
October has been a busy month at Alpine K9 Training Centre, and we have loved having so many opportunities to connect with our community, both inside and outside of dog training.
At Alpine K9, we believe supporting dogs also means supporting the people who love them. Learning to navigate life with a dog who has big feelings, struggles in certain environments, or simply needs a little extra guidance can sometimes feel overwhelming. That is why creating a space for connection, learning, and support matters so much to us.
Looking Back: Our October Coffee Night
On October 7, we welcomed our dog community to Alpine K9 for our Coffee Night, an evening dedicated to conversation, connection, and community.
This was never about having all the answers or needing to know anything about Alpine K9 before showing up. It was about creating a comfortable space where people could come together, share what they have been navigating, listen to others, and realize they are not alone.
Sometimes, the most helpful thing is simply sitting with people who understand. Dog ownership can bring plenty of beautiful moments, but it can also come with challenges, uncertainty, and days when you wonder if anyone else understands what you are going through.
Our Coffee Night was a reminder that community does not have to be complicated. Sometimes, it starts with a cup of coffee and an honest conversation.
Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the evening what it was. We are grateful for the people who continue to show up, share their experiences, and help create a supportive environment for others.
What's Happening at Alpine K9 This October?
We have more opportunities to connect, learn, and spend time together throughout the rest of the month.
Raising a Regulated Dog Group Class
Sundays, October 18 to November 22
This six week group class is designed to help dogs and their people build stronger connections through calm, communication, and practical skills.
With a small group of six to eight dogs, we can focus on helping each team develop skills that carry into everyday life. Our goal is not perfection. It is helping you better understand your dog and giving you tools to navigate the world together.
Whether you are working through big feelings, building confidence, or looking for more structure in your daily routine, this class offers an opportunity to learn and grow together. Free Community Pack Walk
Saturday, October 24 at 4:30 PM
Join us at Island Park, meeting near the playground, for a free community pack walk!
This is an opportunity to get outside, enjoy some fresh air, and connect with other dog people. Halloween costumes are welcome if you and your pup feel like joining in the fun.
You do not need to arrive with everything figured out. If you are running late, simply join the group when you spot us along the way.
We love creating opportunities for people to get out, build connections, and enjoy time with their dogs in a welcoming environment.
Opal's Halloween Party
Friday, October 30
We are getting into the Halloween spirit with Opal's Halloween Party at Alpine K9!
There are five spots available, so be sure to book your dog's daycare day ahead of time if you would like them to join the fun.
It is a little seasonal excitement for our daycare crew and another chance to make everyday experiences special for the dogs in our care.
A Community That Keeps Growing
Every dog and every family has their own story. Some are working through training challenges, some are building confidence, and others are simply looking for a place where they feel welcome.
At Alpine K9, we want to keep creating opportunities for all of those people to connect.
Whether you join us for a group class, come along to a pack walk, bring your dog for daycare, or stop by one of our community events, there is room for you here.
Thank you for being part of our growing community. We look forward to seeing familiar faces, welcoming new ones, and continuing to build something meaningful together.
